A disciple of the illustrious maestro Nikhil Ghosh, tabla player Aneesh Pradhan has inherited compositions of the Delhi, Ajrada, Lucknow, Farrukhabad, and Punjab gharanas.
An accomplished soloist as well as accompanist to vocal and instrumental music and dance, Aneesh has also participated in cross-cultural musical experiments. He is widely regarded as one of the finest tabla players in India. His recordings are available on several record labels and broadcasting networks in India and overseas.
With a doctorate in History, Aneesh also writes regularly for various periodicals and journals. He has been involved in creating educational material related to Indian music and is also the Director of Underscore Records Pvt. Ltd (www.UnderscoreRecords.com) a record label that he established with vocalist Shubha Mudgal.

Current Teaching

Aneesh will be a guest teacher in the new Masters of Contemporary Improvisation course that begins at Macquarie University in 2009.
