The aim of the this course is to give students an insight into the interrelation between music, sound and image in multimedia and interactive media, and to experience many ways of approaching the affectivity of sound and image. The course will transition from experiential to interactive forms of multimedia.

Technical issues such as synchronsiation will be covered, along with broader considerations such as the function and affectivity of music in relation to image. Three multimedia applications will be covered where students can realise three separate creative works involving the audiovisual space.

The final assessment involves creating a real-time performable multimedia installation and as such, explores a fundamental set of skills for creating multimedia and interactive performance works.
